Players can fully customize their character and choose from four positions: Chaser, Seeker, Beater, and Keeper. Characters from Hogwarts Legacy can even be unlocked in-game.

Quidditch Champions lets players soar through the skies on their broomsticks, as part of the Hogwarts sports team. Matches are played in locations that Harry Potter fans will recognize, giving fans another glimpse into the world of the books. The game hasn’t wowed every player though, with critiques of its visuals and gameplay. Still, for those who enjoyed flying around on their broom in Hogwarts Legacy or those who lamented the lack of Quidditch, this game is well worth playing.

Fable 3 (2010)

Dual-Wield Magic From Your Arms

Although it’s an older game, one title that is surprisingly similar to Hogwarts Legacy is Fable 3. Here, players trade their wands in for “Will Gauntlets,” magical bracers that allow the player to cast spells using nothing but their limbs.

While the game doesn’t feature nearly as many spells as the Harry Potter universe does, it finds its footing in the various spell combinations that players can use to defeat their opposition on the fantastical continent of Albion. Fable 3‘s ability to dual-wield elements like fire and shock may win some points in the hearts of wizarding world enthusiasts. Those who enjoy it will also have the upcoming Fable 4 to look forward to.

Story-Driven Mage’s Guild Is Similar To Hogwarts Legacy

The Mages Guild in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is quite similar to Hogwarts Legacy‘s own eponymous school, sending players on a slow-burning, overarching journey to master the arcane arts. Morrowind may offer the best Elder Scrolls spell system, but the story-driven nature of Oblivion‘s Mages Guild ultimately parallels Hogwarts Legacy‘s main quest line.

Sorcerers will need to climb the ranks as an Associate of the Mages Guild to become an Arch-Mage in Oblivion. Along the way, they’ll have the pleasure of learning a wide range of magics, from the restorative powers of Restoration to the chaotic Destruction spells.

Although the Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows games don’t offer much in terms of exploring Hogwarts or the surrounding areas, they do still have plenty in common with Hogwarts Legacy. Most notably, while in previous Harry Potter games, you play as Harry and engage in primarily small schoolyard fights, in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows you face villains that are comparable to those faced in Hogwarts Legacy.

There’s the same sense of danger lurking around the corner as you play through both of these games, and the combat is better than it was in any previous Harry Potter game. Like the final books in the franchise, it’s a far cry from the lighter tone and more simplistic storytelling of the earliest Harry Potter material.

Although The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild doesn’t allow players to cast spells per se, the experience in and of itself is a magical fantasy adventure. The kingdom of Hyrule is a gorgeous, open-world map full of secrets that’s just as exciting to explore as the Scottish Highlands in the Harry Potter prequel.

Nintendo Switch enthusiasts of Hogwarts Legacy may find that, despite the lack of wands, BOTW and its sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, are fun adventures that hold a similar feeling. The two Zelda games are also ideal for new players thanks to their appealing art style, rewarding exploration and puzzle solving, and (mostly) forgiving combat.

Elden Ring certainly doesn’t come without a challenge, as it’s an unapologetically Soulsborne-style game with difficult bosses. But even though a magic-wielding Tarnished might not feel as powerful as Hogwarts Legacy‘s protagonist initially, it’s well worth the trials and tribulations to master the arcane arts in the Lands Between.

Not only are sorcerers among the most powerful classes in the game, they’re also woven deeply into Elden Ring‘s complex and fascinating lore. Players will truly feel like a part of something larger, and in this way, Elden Ring can be quite like Hogwarts Legacy itself. Be warned, though, that this is not a game for novice players.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt expands and improves upon the prior Witcher games, earning its place as one of the most critically acclaimed RPGs of all time. Just based on its immense, detailed open-world map and the impact of player choices on the story, anyone who enjoys Hogwarts Legacy will also likely find themselves entranced by the adventures of the Witcher Geralt and his sorceress friends.

Combat in The Witcher 3 also incorporates just the right amount of magic in between swordsmanship, as players can cast a handful of powerful Signs and brew potions and alchemic concoctions. The world of The Witcher 3 is also very similar to that of Hogwarts Legacy, down to the environment and enemy designs.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is an RPG set entirely within the world of D&D, featuring rich narratives and lots of magical spells. Though not precisely the same as Hogwarts Legacy‘s witches and wizards, BG3‘s spellcasters are extremely fun classes to make use of the arcane powers of this mystical world.
