Chancellor Scholz is on an official visit to India at the invitation of Modi, and the leaders addressed the 18th Asia-Pacific German Business Conference and also held the seventh intergovernmental consultations.
Misri confirmed that the discussions touched on regional issues, including the situation in Ukraine and issues in West Asia. He said Modi told Scholz about India’s steps to negotiate and communicate with the leaders of both Russia and Ukraine. He emphasized that India takes a position “on the side of peace” and is ready to support initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict.
“We are not neutral in this conflict. We are on the side of peace and are ready to support any efforts to achieve peace, using our capabilities to interact with all parties to the conflict,” Misri said.
