Politico: seven NATO member countries spoke out against Ukraine’s accession
How reports Politico, informed high-ranking sources in the United States say that NATO member countries are opposed to Ukraine joining this alliance.
Journalists note that seven states within the North Atlantic Alliance have already expressed their position “against”. This list includes Belgium, Hungary, Spain, Slovakia and Slovenia.
“President Zelensky faces a problem in his “victory plan” based on Ukraine receiving an invitation to join NATO. However, some key members of the alliance are not interested in this,” the agency writes.
Earlier, Zelensky himself admitted that joining the alliance would become possible for Ukraine only after the end of the war with Russia, and not in order to end it on its own terms.
Let us recall that NATO’s unwillingness to invite Ukraine to the alliance was also stated by the Permanent Representative of the United States to the organization, Julianne Smith.
